    Appendix 1 – Universal Robots Products Data Description

1. Introduction

This Data Notice for Teradyne Robotics Products (“Data Notice”) is a part of the agreement (“Agreement”) between Teradyne Robotics A/S and its subsidiaries (collectively, “Vendor”) and the Customer (“Customer”). It applies whenever the Customer uses Vendor’s products and services within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2854/2023 (“Data Act”).

As required by the Data Act, this Data Notice must be provided to the Customer before entering into any Agreement with the Vendor. It contains the pre-contractual information mandated under the Data Act, which applies unless otherwise specified in the Agreement or relevant data descriptions.

All the capitalized terms shall have the same meaning as defined in the Data Act.

Where no specific data descriptions are available, raw and Readily Available Data produced on the Vendor’s products includes telemetry, event logs, and maintenance data, which is stored on the products

2. Vendor’s Use of Data

Vendor may use Readily Available Data for the following purposes:

  1. Performance of the Agreement, including all related administrative, support, invoicing, and operational activities.

  2. Products and Services Development, including improving products and services and supporting other internal business purposes.

Information specific to the products and services, such as the type, estimated volume, collection frequency, storage details, and data holder’s identification, can be found in the data descriptions included herein or in other applicable Vendor policies. These provisions apply unless otherwise agreed in the Agreement.

3. Retrieving Data

Customer can access Readily Available Data and associated metadata directly from the products. Instructions for accessing and retrieving data are available through the Vendor’s Tech Support channels upon request.

4. Connected Products

Specific methods for accessing data from Connected Products or Related Services are provided where indicated in the applicable operating instructions, data descriptions, the Agreement, or related documentation.

5. Related Data Generation

Data from Connected Products or Related Services is generated when the Customer uses Connected Products or Related Services provided by Vendor.

6. Related Services Data Retention

Data from Connected Products and Related Services, collected by Vendor shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purposes necessary to:

  1. Deliver the Connected Products and/or Related Services;

  2. Support products and services development; or

  3. Complying with statutory retention requirements and in accordance with Teradyne Document Retention Policy.

7. Trade Secrets

Unless otherwise stated in the applicable data description, Readily Available Data does not include any trade secrets.

8. Privacy

For any processing of personal data, Vendor’s Privacy Policy applies and takes priority over this Data Notice.

9. Data Processing

If Readily Available Data you request Vendor to make available to a third party contains personal data where Customer personnel are not the data subject, Customer must specify the legal basis for processing such personal data. The Customer is solely responsible and ensure that the processing of such personal data complies with the GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.

10. Data Sharing

Customers may request that data be shared with third parties, subject to separate agreements and compliance with data protection laws. By contacting Vendor’s Tech Support, the Customer may request Vendor to make Readily Available Data and associated metadata available to a designated third party. In such a case, Vendor reserves the right to require a separate agreement with the third party. The Customer may also request Vendor to stop sharing Readily Available Data with a third party by submitting a request through Vendor’s Tech Support.

13. Access Rights

Customers have the right to access, retrieve, and export all data generated by their robot.

14. Complaint and Redress

Customers may file complaints with the competent authority in accordance with the Data Act.

15. Agreement Terms and Termination

Information about the term and termination may be found in your Agreement with Vendor. Vendor reserves the right to amend this Data Notice. Any changes will be communicated through the Vendor’s official channels or directly to the Customer.

Appendix 1 – Universal Robots Products Data Description

Data Description - PolyScope 5 and PolyScope X

Data is generated continuously during robot operation and can be exported on-demand by the Customer. Data is provided in structured, machine-readable formats (ZIP, CSV, TXT) and includes all relevant metadata. Data is retained as long as necessary for service provision or statutory compliance.

How to Access and Export Data

Support File Export (USB Method):

  • Insert a FAT16/FAT32-formatted USB drive (≥1GB) into the robot’s teach pendant.

  • Navigate to the Log section on the robot interface.

  • Select “Support File” and follow on-screen prompts to save the ZIP file to the USB drive.

  • Remove the USB drive after export completion.

Log Viewer (PC Method):

  • Download and install the UR Log Viewer (Windows only).

  • Use the Log Viewer to open support files, log histories, or record real-time data via Ethernet.

  • Export data as CSV for further analysis.

(1) For the purpose of this Data Notice, Teradyne Robotics Products shall also include Universal Robots (“Universal Robots”) and Mobile Industrial Robots (“MiR”) Products.

(2) For the purpose of this Data Notice, Teradyne Robotics A/S includes Mobile Industrial Robots A/S (“MiR”) and Universal Robots A/S (“Universal Robots”), both companies incorporated in Denmark, whose registered address is Energivej 51, 5260 Odense S, Denmark under company number 29138060, and their affiliates.
