MiR Webinar_May 2026_EMS

An introduction to Mobile Industrial Robots and their real-world application in manufacturing and warehousing. We will show where transport automation truly delivers value - and where it remains limited to slide presentations. The session walks through the entire journey: from material flow analysis, solution selection and system integration, to go-live and the first measurable results.

You will see what implementation looks like from the inside - from the perspectives of the manufacturer, the system integrator and the end customer. No theory - only concrete examples, real challenges and key learnings from a project at Borg Automotive.
If you are responsible for production, logistics or process optimization, this webinar will provide practical insights you can apply directly in your own facility.

How transport automation works in practice

Learn how to successfully implement Mobile Industrial Robots AMRs for internal transport - from the initial analysis to a fully operational system on the shop floor. We focus on the factors that truly determine project success: material flows, infrastructure readiness, integration with IT systems (WMS/ERP/MES), and team collaboration.

In the technical segment, you will explore the capabilities of AMRs and where they deliver real value - workstation-to-workstation transport, production supply, warehouse logistics and order picking. We will discuss concrete use cases as well as the limitations that must be considered already at the planning stage.

A strong emphasis is placed on the implementation process. The system integrator will show what the project looks like step by step: from process identification and space mapping, through robot and module selection, to testing, commissioning and scaling. We will also cover the most common challenges - from layout bottlenecks to organizational issues and preparing teams to work alongside robots.

A key highlight is a case study from Borg Automotive. You will see how internal transport operated before implementation, the real challenges involved, and what changed after the robots went live - including the impact on productivity, costs and work organization.

The session concludes with a practical summary of how to approach ROI and when such an investment makes business sense. This content is aimed at professionals who want to make informed automation decisions - not just “see a robot in action.”
